For the Lamb Kofta
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 shallot minced
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley minced, plus more for garnishing
- 2 tbsp fresh mint minced, plus more for garnishing
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground all spice
For the yogurt tahini sauce
- 1/4 cup greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp tahini
- 1 large garlic clove
- salt and pepper to taste
- water for thinning the sauce
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the lamb kofta. Shape the mixture into palm-sized oval patties.
Arrange the patties on a rimmed baking sheet, making approximately 10 patties.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the patties reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
While the patties are cooking, combine the ingredients for the yogurt tahini sauce in a blender. Blend until smooth, adjusting the consistency with water as desired.
Once the lamb koftas are cooked, transfer them to a serving plate. Drizzle with the yogurt sauce and garnish with freshly chopped mint and parsley. Indulge in this flavorful delight!
