Ingredients

For the Lamb Kofta

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 shallot minced
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley minced, plus more for garnishing
  • 2 tbsp fresh mint minced, plus more for garnishing
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground all spice

For the yogurt tahini sauce

  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • water for thinning the sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the lamb kofta. Shape the mixture into palm-sized oval patties.
  • Arrange the patties on a rimmed baking sheet, making approximately 10 patties.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature of the patties reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • While the patties are cooking, combine the ingredients for the yogurt tahini sauce in a blender. Blend until smooth, adjusting the consistency with water as desired.
  • Once the lamb koftas are cooked, transfer them to a serving plate. Drizzle with the yogurt sauce and garnish with freshly chopped mint and parsley. Indulge in this flavorful delight!
