@cookinglikekate My doctor recently suggested I try cutting dairy from my diet as an experiment to see if it might help with some of the issues I’ve been having. Since then, I’ve made it my mission to find good replacements because, like a lot of people, dairy made up a big part of what I ate. I’ve been focusing on creating recipes that don’t just replace dairy, but are so delicious you don’t even miss it. That’s exactly what this dairy free onion dip is for me. It’s the kind of recipe that makes me genuinely crave the dairy-free version. #dairyfree #appetizers #partysnacks #healthysnacks ♬ som original - Gym Focused

Notes

  • Use yellow onions for the best balance of sweetness and savory flavor.
  • Caramelize the onions low and slow for the deepest flavor and best texture.
  • Start with less broth or bouillon mixture, then add more if needed to keep the dip thick and creamy.
  • Let the onions cool before mixing them into the base so the dip stays smooth and not runny.
  • For the best flavor, chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days and stir before serving again.
